Hiya Frosty Folks :)
Incase you wondering where ive got to, im currently snowed in at Highwycombe, where last evening the snow in the chilterns ( South East ) brought everything to a stand still. Councils claim they've got no grit, so no roads where prepared for the forecasted bit of snow. not even bus routes. Luckily my Mother lives in Hazlemere so I was lucky in that respect, otherwize I may of had to sleep on the bus or something.
I wonder if any of you, are facing any frosty antics?
Cheers and all the very best,
Clyde.
PS - No internet at home till after Christmas :) so instead of all the very best, have a very merry christmas :)
respect,
-Mike F.

No snow here really but there was rain and the sidestreets are all sheathed in about half an inch of solid ice.
Very bad in fact.
-
We have about an inch of snow and its still coming down. So if the cold weather holds up, we might actually have a white christmas this year.
-
It keeps snowing on and off here, but I doubt we've had more than 2 inches. It's not melting very fast though, and most of the nearby shops are sold out of salt for some reason.
-
A lot of my family and friends live in and around Berkshire and were caught in the worst snow on record for the County. Some of them took 8 hours to travel 2 miles and some were forced to spend the night trapped in cars or had to spend the night away from their families at their workplace.Part of the problem was lack of gritters and snow ploughs. This was because only slight flurries of snow were forecast by the experts not the blizzrd that ensued.
How can we trust these idiot Scientist to predict the climate in 50 years time when they can't even forecast the next 24 hours. :-\

The minute we get a little snow in the UK the whole country grinds to a halt..

Hehe, summed up perfectly there.
-
We used to get worse than this 20 years ago - I don't remember such disruption back then. Still, I was a child, so my memories of that time are a bit hazy. I'll ask my parents if they remember what it was like 20 years ago.
Still, it has been worse in some parts of the country than in others - here we only got a light dusting of snow, but other places had many inches.
Some cats are having fun in the snow though (http://www.weebls-stuff.com/catface/Cat+Face+18/).
-
Council cutting costs, the reason it got so bad they said they'd run out of grit what aload of old shit.
And I am waiting in anticipation for that to be announced on the News / asked on Question time, as to what fcuk Rus is responsible; as that hasnt been disclosed and the Snow fall was told about on the Weather Forecast hours in advance.
It caused me a great deal of stress, and to be stranded for 4 days and I couldnt reach the bank in time for an important request; thankfully Im still surrounded by four walls, say no more.
-
It has all melted here, barring a little frost. The forecast for tomorrow is more snow though, especially in Wales and the Midlands.
We've stocked up on salt, just in case it comes back.
-
Thanks for the heads up about the new cat face episode :)
-
6 Inches of snow here and still Heavy Snow! It all so white when wake up early and I put :kewl: (shade) on lol
-
I'm snowed in at work. I've filled 13 bags with shedding and now I'm a little bored :(
Burger van round the corner is open tho, so boss-man has just went to buy us all food :D
-
It is HEAVEST Snow I have ever seen for YEARS! :o :o :o
-
We've nearly got 6 inches here too. They're not throwing grit on our street, but I'm glad they're not throwing viagra on it.
-
that's the stuff we got in my Neighbourhood over the festive period.
And it's not arrived in my part of Bucks yet. it's due at any time.
Also they've not gritted the roads, when they've known in plenty of time about the snow fall. I was always told they have to by law grit roads, that public transport ie, buses use. I guess if they make cuts to the workmen and gritters, then they can claim expenses for those fat cats at a later date. Alan B. Stard.

It chucked it down in Swansea today for about 3 hours, it was sticking to the road and I thought it was going to get quite bad, then thankfully it all melted again, the roads are torture around here now though.. Very icy.
-
Horrible here. We don't even get proper snow. It comes down for about a half an hour, sticks, turns to rain, freezes, then snows for another half an hour. Can't go anywhere and can't make snowmen. No fun.
-
Perfect coding weather.
-
This is the Winter I grew up with great to see it back, it's taken 15 odd years to revert to normal. I can't built a snow man because of my stupid lame hands. :(
Amazing how a bit of snow can bring our little island to a stand still
Canada, Scotland & Switzerland to name a few carry on regardless.

Perfect coding weather.
I concur, I have been able to almost finish another game builders' club game.
-
Did you manage to wangle some Pie Movie Posters!? :)
yes it is a good time for coding, just wish I had the inspiration!
-
I've had to put the games coding into top priority - they were supposed to be ready for Christmas :(
-
If I was at home during the day I'd be coding too :*(
-
I have the advantage of working in a school which has been closed due to bad weather. They plan to re-open tomorrow though.

Heh! I had the day off yesterday and I've just about finished CopperMaster!
Just got one more plasma to do and the final "raster mutation" and stitch it all together... quite a productive day :)
If I finish it before the weekend, I might have a crack at the vectors myself.. I'll discuss it with you Fri night if you're around?

I shall be online between about 7pm and 10pm mate :)

Here is the US about 60% of the country is under arctic air and lots of snow. Even down here in usually sunny Texas we have been shivering. It is supposed to get down to 20 deg F. tonight, which is quite unusual for us. At least here in Austin, we didn't get any snow/ice. Good thing too; these people down here can't drive in rainy weather let alone snow. :)

Every couple of years we get a decent winter and we have no clue how to drive. Watching people wheelspinning was funny at first, but not when it took me 3 hours to get home from work Tuesday night!
-
Haven't been out since Tuesday but now I ran out of contact lenses. I'm walking for a bus in a few minutes, which should be running, but I dunno how I'll get home.
-
Hope you don't have to walk back mate.
-
See I live near a town which is ten/fifteen by bus to the city but now it's turned into an hour by bus, if they run. Stuck in a mate's house here now, can't get home.
-
Hope everyone's ok after all the crazy weather? It's only just after getting back to normal here now, we had floods after the snow.
-
It has finally warmed up here in Texas. We are such wimps. :)
