Here's a neat plugin for WinAmp to be able to play those cool C64 SID tunes, extract the download into your plugins directory and voila :)
PS. this is abandonware. it works with the latest win amp version too.

if you know of a better plugin for sid tunes in winamp, please post it up, as this one only lets you play the default track from the sid file of your choosing.

AFAIK there aren't other (working) plugins to play SID tunes in winamp...
if you just need to listen to your favourite tunes you may try http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=76056 which is just one of the best player around (old version http://www.gsldata.se/c64/spw/sp2w.zip).
Other alternatives should be represented by http://sidtool.demodungeon.com/index.php?f=download or http://www.un4seen.com/xmplay.html with the SID plugin related extension you'll fin here http://dhost.info/pieknyman/html/plugins.html
Assuming that you are using Vice emulator, one of the best way to listen to SIDs (without messing with the real hardware) tunes should be as simple as creating a batch file with the following text:
"C:\Program Files\WinVICE-2.2\x64.exe" -sidengine 256 -sidfilters -keepenv -vsid %1|exit
(please adjust the "path" to your current Vice directory) then save it, wherever you like, as a .BAT file (i created a simple icon onto my desktop with the name vsid.bat)... from now on you should be able to listen to your favourites music just dragging-n-dropping .SID files (HVSC v52 has just released a couple of days ago) onto the batch file; this would activate the VSID interface (you can control which subtune for that particular SID simply pressing left/right cursor keys).
Happy listening! ;D
