Hi guys!
I recently stumbled across this new site and thought it might be interesting for you:
-> http://paperc.de (http://paperc.de)
It's a German site (only in German for now, an international version is planned, but that shouldn't hinder you from registering anyway, it needs only a few German words to navigate), where you can read over 2700 IT related books online for free. They are recent books, not just old crap and a lot of books are in English. For example over 500 O'Reilly books. There's no hidden catch. It works like this: searching and online reading is for free, if you want to print stuff, mark or copy text then you'd have to pay for it via a prepaid credit. For registering you only need a valid email address and a password, no specific personal info, nothing. I didn't see any restrictions or checks for foreign IP addresses, so I guess there's none, but I couldn't test it since I'm located in Germany.
If you want to try it out yourself here's a little step-by-step guide so you don't get lost in translation:
1. On the front page click on [Suchen]
or click on [ERWEITERTE SUCHE] for advanced search. [Verlag] means publisher. Enter O'Reilly there and you'll see I didn't lie... hehe
[ALLE BÜCHER] browses all books.
Enjoy!
