Hi guys!

Finally, here it is, my entry for this nice compo. It's called Hippotro. Why? Read the scroller for details... ;) It's just a little intro that hopefully gets everybody into a little summersurfinsunisshining mood...

Details:

DBF/GVY LIQUID CHALLENGE 2010: "Hippotro"

 Released        : March, 30th 2010

 Requirements    : Modern PC, DirectX9
                        ( and a little luck :D)

InIntro Keys:

[F1]: Rotation of letters on/off
[F2]: Zoom of letters on/off
[F3]: Hippo on/off

[F5]: SFX on/off
[F6]: Chip music on/off

[F9]: Beach chill out mode on/off


I truly hope that it works on more than just the 3 machines I tested it on.

That is so amazingly cute, it's so smooth it's easy to overlook the amount of things that are happening in there.

Also, I'm running it on an iMac dual booted to WinXP and it ran without any hitches.

Damn, Padman ... you did it again !!!

This is absolutely great, because:

- true oldschool feeling
- cute animations
- great scroller (thanks for the greet)
- whole production has a fantastic color-scheme
- great summer chippy music
- interactions (F-keys)

I really love the beach-mode! Great work, mate!

Excellent, I really like the Hippo and the waves/caustics/highlights a lot!
Beach mode was a nice touch. :)

The look and feel of font and the music remember me the best nintendo games and also the water affect is really great

Classic totally retro ... Loved it.

Especially the simulated lighting/water overlay.That's very cool.

Is it sine plasma? cos i tried that and couldn't get it to look realistic.

I was tempted to answer yes just to show off, but the honest person I am I have to admit that it's only some trickery involving moving textures and transparency. ;)

This is brilliant beyond words, from the art design to the animated effects. The music is more than icing on the cake - it's a highly important retro ingredient.

oops..didnt seen this one... this is a cute one padman :) .. with real water/beach feeling for the upcoming summer..and the f keys are chosen well and also the tune fits great.. very nice  :cheers:
