My wife has had a cesarean section, so she'll be unable to perform her duties as wife for a while.
The knock on effect is that I now have to take on the role of full-time parent, so I might not be around here much for a few weeks.
Sophie (I think we've agreed on this name) was born early this morning, weighing 2lb 13oz, so they're keeping a close eye on her. She's doing well apparently, so all I need to worry about is my other two.

Thank you everyone. Your support means a lot.
I cannot celebrate until they're both home, but for now I'll pour some shandies.

Yeah. I guess I already saw some photos on facebook. Awesome.

Just counting down the weeks now - about 7 left until I think she's coming home.
I dusted off the lullaby / ceiling projector we got for Luke (my oldest) - it invokes some strong memories when it is played.
I've already stocked up on wine for everyone, but I'll only be having one can of cider that night. I don't want to set a bad example to her.
She's making good progress - they've switched off the extra oxygen, so she's breathing the same air as everyone else. Good strong pair of lungs - she'll be blowing up balloons on her own for her first birthday.

Congratulations Tony, Tell the wife well done for taking one for the team.
-
Thanks, she needs some encouragement.
-
CONGRATULATIONS!
Hopefully they will still be doing coding and demo making by the time your toddler can reach the keyboard!
-
I've started with my oldest, but he sometimes forgets about case sensitivity while coding.
-
She's finally home now. Things can start getting back to normal.
-
Great news!

Indeed, good news!

I've just got to remember that I can do burping, clothing and nappy changes, but not feeding (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OkcucXIuVI).
