Hi guys...
Some of you know me here in this forum under the nickname "va!n"... However some of you may know me under my old looking full handle "Mr.Vain of Secretly!", i used many many years...
I got the nickname "Mr.Vain" while two old friends (sceners too) maked a lot of jokes to/with me... When i sat together with this two friends, they tried evertime to annoying me (joking on a friendly and funny way)... So it comes to the day when they tried to annoying me with the german question: "Wen meinst du? ;)" (engl: Who do you mean?) ... Over hours this german sentence was pushed more and more, so they played with the german word "wen" (engl: "Who/whom") and they come to "Wayn meinst du?"... "Wayn?".... "Vain?" and so they ended up in just "Vain" and then finally "Vain? Ahhh... "Mr.Vain" :D
This is the story how i come up to my nickname... The funny thing was esp, when some time later the comercial tune "Calling Mr.Vain - from Culture Beat" was released, which i really liked ^^
Today my old nickname seems a bit old to me and i am not really happy to the thing what it means... So i am not really sure if me should change my nickname just to "va!n" ("Va!n of Secretly!") or any other nick...
I associate a lot of nice/good things (esp when i was active on the amiga) with my old nickname.... So what do you think - should i change my old nickname (mr.vain) or not? ^^
I know, at least it is my decision...

But, finally, I don't know, it sounds really strange to me to choose if you want to keep or not.
Moreover ( or I am a bit silly ) you didn't tell us what will be the new nick :)

I know you as Va!n, if the name has importance and history to you then stick with it Dude!
If however your getting bored and it niggles at you then possibly reconsider the nick / handle.
Don't know if you knew that vein is pronounced / sounds the same.
I think Va!n suits you. if your changing from Va!n to Mr Va!n, greets will just need an extra 2 characters ;)

I am thinking to move generally from "Mr.Vain" to just "va!n" (removing the "Mr." and adding the "!" instead of an "i", which could be understand as a small hint to the groupname "secretly!" which ends with an "!" ^^ (at least i think "va!n" with "!" looks more cool instead just an "i" - isnt it?
However it seems i have caught myself now, that me used/is using unconsciously "mr.vain" for scene stuff - also releases by "SECRETLY!" and using just "va!n" for things that has not been released under "SECRETLY!" and so not directly as scene release - more privat stuff...
Maybe i will still use both nicks... (one for scene and one fore more privat stuff, even since some people knew me from the amiga days under "mr.vain" and on the other side some people know me just as "va!n"). Anyway thanks for your feedback and thoughts ;) I will think about it.

I was trying to say "Leet Alert", but for some reason I put 2 l's in.
I'll try using the leet dictionary next time - available in all bad book shops.
