I present my second entry to this years Wireframe contest - Twisted.
The music is called "Peaceful Village Turn Back Time Tower" and it is from 8 bit Collective again.
Here is a screenshot:

This entry was going to be some sort of homage to the game Snake in 3D, but I ran out of time. I'll be offline for a week from Monday, and weekends are usually busy for me, so if this is my last post for a week, please be patient.

Nice one! The scroller seems to "pop" as the letters exit the screen, but the rest is pretty solid.
-
Couldn't reach the end of the scroll, I fell asleep whilst reading, since it's late and it's quite slow ;). But I like the DNA helix. Well done! This'll surely get you more votes than faceburner! :whisper:
-
Another fine entry! Would've liked to see the 3d snake tribute though, I love that game.
Cool dna strand and excellent perspective scrolly!
-
The popping was really bad at one stage, but it's not as bad as it was. I'll look into it if I can sneak onto my laptop while my wife isn't looking ;)
I'll also increase the text speed while I'm on.
I've still got the code for the attempted 3D snakes, but it will have to wait a week before I can try again with it.
Thank you for the praise for this entry. It keeps my urge to code alive. :D

I totally love the way that you've done that scroll - it looks like it's being drawn with Lasers and the effect works well.
This is definitely the most demo-like entry you've made for a challenge here so far and it's very enjoyable.
Critics hat on, you're still using primary colours, I find the music a little screechy and I'd have loved to see the DNA strand spinning instead of just scrolling up, the laser effect would have been even better if there had been some blurring.
Don't let that depress you though Tony because this is a definite step in the right direction and with a little more work on the colours and a nice tune this would be almost to the standard of Digital Watch Brawl (which I totally adored!).
-
I have now implemented the first round of changes, and if I get time, I'll act on this feedback too.
I was going for a projector style effect with the scroller, so I'm glad you made that comment. Lasers make superior projectors ;)
The DNA strand does spin, but it is so slow it is barely noticable. I will speed it up, and adjust the colours. I will also hunt down a better tune.
-
I have now adjusted the colours and found new music, which I prefer. Hopefully you'll enjoy it better than the last one as well.
The rotational speed has also been increased, and I have introduced a tilt to the rotational axis to accentuate the rotation and 3D effect slightly.
I'm unsure of how to accomplish the bluring effect using just line drawing graphical commands, but if I get time before I leave I'll give it a shot. I have an idea.
-
Tremendous work! Like it a lot!
-
Much better now :)
-
Thanks, the original was rushed, and it showed. Your input is highly valued.
-
The way the lettters are drawn remind me a bit of those laser shows they have at music concerts. Very cool.
-
Well this is simple ... but in it, I really like the scroller, even if I would love to see more lines between the letters and the background

Thank you guys. I've been away for a few days, otherwise I would have replied sooner.
Looking at all of the other entries, it's clear that I'm up against some very tough competition. But it has been fun exploring 3D wireframes so far.
