Here's my entry. Coding time about 5 hours. Unfortunately I don't have much time to tidy it up and make it shiny, but I hope you like it!
Cheers!
Jim
<edit - forgot the screenie>
<edit - attached a shader fix for Intel chipsets>

Cool idea Jim! Very interesting to watch, nice work :)
-
Excellent concept, and you've got quite a good result there in 5 hours!
Thanks for entering the challenge Jim - I know you're really busy at the moment :)

Thats a very interesting concept, would be interesting to see a whole under sea eco system done like that, fish, coral, seaweed etc. would make an interesting screen saver :)

Runs at approx. 3 frames per minute w/o sound after installing d3dx9_41.dll. I guess I need a new computer badly. :-\ Anyway, I like what I saw, the jellyfish look really cool and the music suits the theme very well (I listened to it in Winamp). Cool entry, I wish I had a proper PC to view it in all it's glory though... :clap:
(I attached d3dx9_41.dll in case anybody gets the same error message that it's missing.)

That's a cool jellyfish experiment, colorful and the music gives it a mysterious vibe. Would've been cool to give them a small speed burst when their heads move, but good result for 5h! :clap:
And thanks for the file padman, I'm always worried when downloading files I don't know from untrustworthy sources.

unable to run here...
PbufferClass error... memory could not be "read"...

Very nice entry!
I let it loop several times just figuring out how you generated your jellyfish.
I like the small bits of randomization between the different animals (or are they....? who knows jelly "fish" are odd creatures/colonies). :P
It really gives each one a more lifelike look because they are different.

->Moroboshisan - looks like your gfx driver doesn't support EXT_framebuffer_object and the pbuffer fallback isn't working. Sorry!

This was is really good, Jim. I like jellyfishes animation - and to show it wireframed is a great idea. Plus, the music
is well chosen and fits extremly good to this production.
Thumb up!

Direct X was being an ass to install, but I got it working in the end - and this is great. I enjoyed the variety of the jellyfish.
I went to the sea life centre at Scarborough during my holiday and thought the jellyfish would make a good wireframe demo, with their many tentacles - you've come to the same conclusion, possibly from a different source of inspiration, and executed it brilliantly.
