Title: Building a Lancer Evo VIII (WIP)(FA-Album)

Thought I'd put up a album of a 3D car I've been working on.. Been at it for a few weeks at the most already, (Taking lots of breaks to clear my head).. You can see the progress in the album, I'll be adding more to it as I go... next up is to work on the back... Looking kindof funny w/o a back bumper, and boot lid.... lol....

Wheels aren't stock.. I saw a design by SSR for the Evo and made 3D replicas of them.... Look sweet imho! :D

17,700 faces (around 1-2k w/o the tires).... way way under the limit on a high poly model.... ;) .. This isn't for games, it's a render/animation model... =)

Most of these I see hit 100,000-300,000 faces.... (Just_car - Car&Interior respectivly)

The same thing can be done in less polies though, if made solid body.. this has a Opening doors, Bonnet, boot, etc... ;) And the tires are grooved, not textured....

Same here.. So far, this is as close as I can get to owning one.... hehe.... ;D

Very powerful, sporty looking car... And it feels as good on the inside, as it looks on the outside.. The Recaro seats are something else.. :D

Post by: Rattrapmax6 on August 10, 2006: For myself, I might practice animation w/ it.... I'll model some scene and make it race around, or what not.. Prolly not, cause animation takes ages to render, and it's not like I car share them on dail-up .. just a 8sec long clip is like 1mb or close, depending on LOD.. o.O

On another note, me and another 3D modeler was looking at this site, good car models were going for like 90-100usd, and even better ones higher.... Sortof sounds like an interesting idea..

Truth be told though, I love Evo's, car design, and was curious how to model off blueprints.... I fond the Evo's BPs, and went at it.... hehe, :D .. So, mostly practice that leads to other things hopefully.. Next time around, it will be a completely original car desinged by me.. =)

PS: Yeah, airfix.. hehe, also, you have to make your own parts here... so this would prolly fall under Skill 19 or 20.. lmao.. if they go that high.. XD
