I have decided to strip down my entry from the initial spec - gone are the attempts at light-sourced polygons and inverse kinematics.
This entry features an animated wireframe spider walking generally from left to right at different angles while a colourful text scroller runs underneath. A motion blur effect has also been applied to the spider.
Please enjoy it. Unless spiders scare you - in which case turn back now!
Also, the music doesn't loop. RUN AWAY! ;)

Excellent demo! Nice colors and really cool blur effect!
How did you model the spider?

For shame, this going to cost you! ;D

really nice! the music is amazing :updance:
(For mine, I didn't put the blur effet for the wireline rout... I have made something else!)

 absolutely great entry. Totally rocks. Runs really smooth here on my laptop. Didnt expect to see such a smooth scroller plus an animated wireframe model. All in combination with the great music creates a true oldschool feeling.
I am impressed! :||

Smooth scroll and smooth wireframe animation here! WELL done!... just the motion blur effect seems a little "too much visible" if you can grasp what I mean...
-
Thanks everyone.
How did you model the spider?
I created a series of points to male the spider's head and abdomen in one model, then created the legs as 8 lots of 3 models. I then put the origin points of each leg in the same place as the origin point of the body, and then rotated each leg round the Y axis for back-and-forth movement, and round the X axis for up and down movement.
(For mine, I didn't put the blur effet for the wireline rout... I have made something else!)
I can't wait to see it

That's great to see - I wasn't sure if it was going to run at a good speed or not.

I guess it's more of an afterglow than a motion blur. I need to learn the terminology still :-[

We like these kinds of bugs :)
Nice walking animation and I really love the music you used. Really good one mate.
-
Yep, very well done mate and thanks for the greetings!

Looks really nice CombatKing, especially with the scroller and the wireframe spider together. Music is very nice too. Thanks for the greet and good luck in the compo :)
-
Thanks everyone.
I changed the music at the last minute - the original choice was a bit rubbish.

Good one
