There are some good resources in that thread - The attachment in Stormbringers post is really useful too, 3rd day can take quite a bit of getting used to but it's a good tool for ripping gfx.

Also, fonts tended to be re-used a lot on the Amiga so the chances are that the ones you want have been used in many intros, it's worth checking here;
