Post by: Shockwave on February 25, 2013
UDG Challenge Voting Open!!!

  :)

three new participants[/b]

Please pick your three favourites, please make sure you have watched them all before you vote, the entrants deserve it!

A small word about the sponsorship.  The cash prizes are made possible by the generosity of the people who donated to the treasury.  Even though it is very generous to abdicate from taking your cash prize if you win, please do take it.

To keep things fair, here are the rules for voting and votes are checked by administrators.

Voting rules:

Good luck everyone!

Who would have thought that you could fit MC Hammer and his parachute pants into just 16 little blocks?  In his own inimitable style Padman has done just that and thrown in a few other pleasing effects for good measure.

Good luck everyone. Some really nice entries again for this compo. I couldn't come up with any interesting ideas at all and you guys seem to have really nailed lots of different themes and ideas. Great stuff!

Just got back from an evening out with the family, I had to log on and check the results though and what a buzz!!!  I am really happy to have come first this time, I didn't think I would and the same feelings are here this time that are there with every other challenge, whether I'm placed in the top 3 or not - It's a real pleasure and an honour to participate amongst you.

Congratulations to Combatking and Nuclear for 2nd and 3rd places respectively and to everyone who participated in the challenge and voting.
I'll look forward to finalising tomorrow evening (Karma, Prizes, Showcase).

See you in the next one :)

Thanks to everyone who entered - it's fun trying to guess what everyone will be writing and doing something different.

I'm honoured to have been placed so highly.

Everyone who got 3 votes shouldn't dispair - there have been times when I've had 0 votes for an entry, so if you can get 3 votes this time, you're bound to score higher next time.

Well done to everyone who entered, and those who placed in the top three. I really had trouble voting as I really wanted to vote for 4 entries! Some really nice stuff this time.

Congrats!

Thanks to those who gave me some votes :)

Edit : Had to post to say, I just got done porting on my new back-end libraries (+GLEW statically linked)  to Desktop OpenGL 2.1+ from the OpenGL ES 2.0 version I entered and it runs like a dream, even on my "remote debug" machine, a fairly old HP laptop with onboard nvidia gfx! hopefully i can get some more groundwork and polish in place before the next challenge!

Well, the Karma and sigs have been given and the prize PM's have been sent out :)

I really love how this community comes alive when there is a coding challenge, thank you so much to everyone who entered, voted and commented - You really help to make DBF what it is :)

Congrats to all the winners, I'm really happy for you, I'll let you finish, but Unlimited Detail Geometry is one of the craziest trips of all time! Of all time!

But seriously, excellent entries all around. For such specific parameters, the effects that people came up with were astounding.

Quoted for truth- well done everybody for helping to keep this cool community vibrant. Looking forward to the next competition already!

Man, I missed the voting!  :whack:
