There's a loophole - code it for Linux and if you have the ability to record footage of it, submit it as a wild demo video.

Has anybody played Proteus?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWs_RKXkyu0

It is a strange little game with lots of weather effects, if anybody needs ideas for the comp :)

Would be nice if you'd like to test my little framework for Linux...

I've attached the executable to my post, if you'd like to have the src itself, just contact me.

The binary should ask you if you would like to run fullscreen, just display the FPS and play a wotw XM as bonus :P, XM player is not done by myself.
It's compiled as 64bit binary with Ubuntu 14.10 and you shouldn't have to install any extra libraries like SDL.

I've got a fairly good idea for my entry now. Time to see how many 3D points I can plot on screen in JavaScript without slowdown.

The closing date is midnight of May 15th.

Is that 00:00 on the 15th or the 16th of May?

well I officially just missed the deadline :D

For those who are curious:

I decided in the last few hours to try to contribute, with a simple "tiny snowflakes fall down and accumulate at the bottom of the screen" effect, and also use the entry as an excuse to learn the Pebble SDK (https://getpebble.com/) and see what it's like to use Rust (http://www.rust-lang.org) on embedded devices!

Needless to say, using Rust like this is quite a pain atm; at least when you can't pull in the standard lib. Or perhaps I just don't know how to do that properly :) . Probably should've skipped the Rust part and made the app in C first... would've been much easier :D

On the bright side, I did manage to get a nice little starting point (https://github.com/yupferris/RustyPebble) working for anyone else who wants to play with the Pebble from Rust (unfortunately it's not available on Windows, but it might be useful anyways).

The full attempt is on Github (https://github.com/yupferris/flaky) if you wanna check it out; I'll probably finish it one of these days. Or perhaps not, as it was all in all a VERY frustrating experience :D

Good luck to everyone else who entered; this turned into quite the interesting afternoon :D

Too bad ferris, but you did get something good out of it. Frustratingly i've been working on and off on various things but they led nowhere. :(

Good luck everybody!

So, was it yesterday or today the deadline? When it says midnight of 15, what GMT and is it yesterday Midnight?
Anyway, I think I am too late.
I decided to start coding something, but then I ended up reading Spelunky tips and wanting to play Spelunky :P

Well done to everyone who entered, and my apologies to everyone who started but missed the deadline - I'll choose a time other than midnight next time to avoid confusion.

I'll compile the list of entries this weekend and open the voting by Monday.

I don't understand, midnight of the 15th has yet to arrive even in GMT.
