Title: Weather Comp 2015 - Voting

VOTING

It's time to choose your favourite entry!

We have 4 entries, so please pick your favourite.

I hope we all had fun coding this time around - I'll try to end the next comp on a Sunday night to encourage more entries.
However, only one entry can rain supreme. Who will blow away the competition? Don't let your judgment be clouded by your favourite coder - you're voting for your favourite program!

To keep things fair, here are the rules for voting and votes are checked by administrators.

Voting rules:

Good luck everyone!

Electrostatic is an entry charged with atmospheric effects. Gentle clouds drift slowly in front of a city, with lightning and rain falling from the sky.

Heavy Rain takes us on a tour of a city full of sky scrapers while rain pours from the heavens. Don't forget about the fancy light-show!

Windig is loaded with retro goodness. A rabbit frolicks on a river bank, watched by a tree. Wind gently strokes the grass, the sun smiles in the sky and clouds drift by gracefully.

Wire Frame Rain focusses on a single puddle while rain drops fall to the beat of a gentle harp tune. Waves ripple from the impact sites, adding turbulance to the water surface.

Well done all, I was a bit bummed about not entering myself (especially as I've been trying all month), but watching the entries is always a joy!

Good luck everybody!

I have the same problem Kirl. I encourage you to finish and release anyway! No point letting the work go to waste, even if it ends up being a very simple little demo like mine will be.

I second that. The timing of this contest may not have been optimal for everyone.
Now would probably be a good time to discuss the timing of the next contest.

I understand Christmas can be a busy time. How about holding another contest in October / November? This may be when we usually hold a Halloween contest, but we could go with other themes, such as Autumn, Bonfire Night or Thanksgiving.

Any thoughts?

That's a good idea, Clyde.

Still a few hours left to cast your votes, everyone!

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys, looking forward to a late demo spitfire.
I'll try to finish my last attempt as well, but without a looming deadline it is a lot harder to ever call it done...

No complaints about the timing here, my inspiration (and immune system) failed at an inopportune time. Maybe the next comp could be without topic altogether, anything goes! Bit of cop-out, but it might just work. :)

I like that idea Clyde!

A free-style contest, so to speak? Sounds like a good idea :)

Thank you also to everyone who entered and to everyone who started coding but couldn't meet the deadline. It's always great to see what everyone can do.

I'd like to share my gratitude with everyone who voted. I always thought I'd be second best, but I guess if I enter enough competitions, I'll come first every once in a while ;)
It's always tricky to pick a favourite, so I am pleasantly surprised to have coded the overall favourite. I guess I had the right balance of music, physics and humour to win this time.

Congrats ck0! A well-deserved victory. And congrats to the rest of us for ending up 2nd.  ;D

Looking forward to the next compo. With hopefully at least 10+ entries then...  ;)
