Anyone else here excitied about The Ashes starting today? Or shall I keep it to myself? :D
Jim

To yourself preferably> I've never understood sports and never will
-
Nah I'll be keeping up with it as much as possible, loved last years Ashes. Hoping for some good games.
-
I don't like Cricket.
-
I love it!
The best England can hope for is to draw the series, there's no way that Australia will let England win again, but I don't give a stuff if Oz beat England because I'm Welsh. Seems to have started bad when England lost the toss, I hope it improves for your sake Jim or you'll get a load of stick in work.

I suspect 346/3 wasn't exactly what the team were aiming for :( Yep, I'm going to cop some abuse in the pub tonight unless something miraculous happens.

Oh dear, :(, I thought Oz was immune to this kind of beaurocratic idiocy, but it appears not
We are told: Many of the Barmy Army have boycotted today's cricket because of the treatment of their bugler, who was ejected yesterday. Paul Burnham, the leader of the Army, said "an awful lot" of members had chosen to watch from their hotels - and he also suggested that the Barmy Army tour of Australia could be scrapped.
Stephen writes: I was fortunate enough to be at the 'Gabba for the last Ashes in Aust and thoroughly enjoyed my two days, the atmosphere was fantastic. The Barmy Army provide an aspect of cricket no other country can. At no stage did I feel threatened or intimidated. Our politicians and sports administrators have decided that passion and atmosphere are not good for the game.
Michael warns: "it will be worse when you get to the WACA as the fun police are in the process of banning everything. The Mexican wave has already been banned. Clapping and cheering will probably be next." Sounds like Lord's."
Yesterday, hundreds of fans missed the start of the match due to crap public transport and over zealous security - no backpacks were allowed in the ground, for some reason.
528/8. Oh. Dear.

England will probably have to follow on at this rate :-\
-
Anyone would think we'd never played before - what the heck's going on!
Jim

England is SHIT and those FAST Bowler who trying get Wickets isnt going anywhere....get those LEG Spinner THEN we will BEAT the AUSSIE !
please SORT it OUT ! :diablo:
-
Ashley Giles was a big mistake. :-\
-
Unless England can clear out the remaining Ozzies and come in and score 500+, I can't see how I'm not going to be sitting at the SCG watching a team that's 4-0 down. :( No chance of rain, unless we all put on our feathers and cockerel feet and start dancing and whooping.
Yesterday was depressing. 3 plum LBWs not given, and Oz went from 5-150 (5-84 at one point) to 7-372.
Come ON England!

Never understood Cricket :( Looks to be a slow, plodding game. something like watching paint dry.
-
Well, it's 4-0 now. And Oz won it on day 3 after only batting once. England were terrible. I've got tix for day 4 at the SCG I've had for 9 months. If it finishes before day 4 in Sydney I'll be gutted. :(

Finally! We've beaten the Aussies at something!
Jim
-
Well, Flintoff's coming home with the consolation prize chaps! Won 4 one day games in a row!
Yay!
Jim
-
So you stopped losing, then?
-
Don't worry, it's only temporary.
-
Thank god. I heard Ireland have a Cricket team and that we're playing in the world cup or something?
-
Only because they get a free trip to the Caribbean!
Jim
-
Sweet. Bet you a fiver we'll win?
-
you're on. I'll go set up a paypal for the winnings
-
I already have one, but thanks anyway.
-
Haha, the World Cup was suppose to go to good ol' Australia.... but, seeing their last few games, I'm not too sure.
But then again - it was only the Commonwealth One Day International Series... phew! Just hope the boys can whip everyone when it counts.
Glad the Ashes are where they belong - in Australia's hands... although it is in Lords (I think) which is a shame because it should stay where it is won.

Maybe Ashley giles could be incinerated and put inside that trophy?
-
