General chat / Re: The Welcoming Comittee

Greetings to all!

Due to "zero post account" policy I decided to post my first piece here. I registered over a half year ago and hasn't posted until now but don't get me wrong - I am not a spammer/lurker/put_your_worst_insult_here. I just wanted to have a quick look on what's digging nowadays in demo coding, to bring back childhood memories, to feel good vibes again.

I had been a member of few Polish demoscene groups in 80'/90' - local groups actually, I didn't manage to get much publicity... ;) Now I am just a mere observer of what is going on in my long forgotten playground. Though I keep thinking to myself I could start over again.

Anyway, I started coding in 1986 when I got my Zx Spectrum 48K. At first I was just playing with BASIC. Then I saw some demoes made by my friends - I thought I could do better so I dived into Z80 assembly. It was a real fun - pity that none of my work has survived to this day. Then an Amiga 500 popped up with its blitter/copper magic. I coudn't resist myself and dropped Speccy for a new lover. Spent few years doing 68K assembly. Finally came IBM PC era. I tried 8086 assembly, Pascal (anyone doing it in Pascal yet?), C but it just wasn't the same. I somehow lost my joy with programming (8-bit rulez  ;D )...

I had a really long break with coding (not to mention PHP and Javascript - I do websites these days). Looking around internet I found this forum and I am damn glad I did. Maybe, I could start coding again like in good, old days!

P.S.
Sorry about my English - I'm not a native speaker.
