Paranoimia - Turicon cracktro
« on: August 31, 2007 »
Win32 remake of the Paranoimia cracktro on Amiga
We once had a passion
It all seemed so right
So young and so eager
No end in sight
But now we are prisoners
In our own hearts
Nothing seems real
It's all torn apart

High quality and smooth remake again Stormbringer. I was wondering when you were going to release this gem!

Thanks for the greeting too.

I might be wrong here, but I think it's using a Soundmon routine that Stormbringer converted from the Amiga.

@benny!: all amiga remakes use a MC68000 small emulator with Paula chipset emulation. The music is ripped from the Amiga with the original replay routine => 100% different technique and obviously not using the SID library by Jim

@Shockwave: sorry mate, this tune is not in Soundmon format (by Brian Postma). This tune has been composed by TSM (a.k.a. Felix Schmidt) of Sunriders using hi own music tool: Suntronic. Suntronic is one of the firsts (I guess HQC made another one before, see The Champs remake) formats to use synth sounds on Amiga (and not samples as it was the case for the early Amiga intros and later with SoundTracker by Karsten Obarski). The replay routine is not disconnected from the module (actual sound track) and usually Felix Schmidt wrote his compositions directly in assembler using dc.b's and dc.w's (declaration of binary data)... and together with the first assemblers on Amiga (e.g. K-Seka) this was more than a challenge!

Thanks for the info about the music. Sounds like a fun job of ripping the original music from the amiga to use in the remake :)
