Testing TTDblitzlib
«
on:
June 09, 2006 »
Attached is a test exe for a small part of the ttdblitzlib myself and zawran have been working on, it recreates the tunnel I did in blitz. Please let me know what fps you get so I can see how it's running for everyone else as it seems a chunk slower than I expected based on other tests.
Cheers
Jon

I get 108 FPS with the original one and 102 with this new one. I still love the green texture.

So it is slower for others as well, must be one of the loops or checks is slower than in blitz, cant see why everything else seems faster but it's still plenty fast enough

I am getting 87fps just to add my own for comparison, which is a good 30fps slower than the blitz version yet if I just draw a pixel to every part of the screen in a loop FB is more than twice as fast which makes me think the problem is in some of the checks for the texturing.
PC is P4 Dual Core (3Ghz) 1024megs Ram and 512meg radeon X1300

How are you rendering the tunnel Jon?

21fps here - but as my pixel pushing power seems to suck - I would say most good cpus should get double that

Nice one Zawran, gives me 63fps which if memory serves correct is about 20fps faster than it was in blitz, which makes me wonder why mine is slower even more
I must have coded something wrong or something

Better FPS here for that version Zawran, it gives 71fps.
Btw, no need to answer my previous question Jon, I see that it's working using Vortex Hypertyle technique.

I tried googling for "Vortex Hypertyle" but can't find any relevant links. I wanted to see if it was the same technique as this tunnel. Do you have any links to places where this is described?
