Unfortunately many many cards dont support non-power of two texture reading (or image reading) except with very carefully controlled state. This means your demo is running about 2fps here. This is a shame because I am a sucker for chess oriented stuff and I really wanted to see this.  (The first one just crashes).

Thanks for providing the Non-bumped version, this time it ran at least and has made me curious enough to want to run it when I visit my parents next (they have an Nvidia card), you see I have an ATI card here, it's quite a recent card (X1650) but as Taj says, ATI cards hate np2 textures at the best of times and most of the time I get about 4-5 fps.

I must say that I think you will have quite a popular release on your hands here if you can use safe textures because it looks like it would be really lovely at full speed :)

Looks cool! Lots of variation in the fx and the scrolling screenshots at the top are a new one on me :)

sounds like it's nVidia only until the npot texture problem is solved.
