Wind, Fire and Smoke
« on: September 03, 2006 »
Today, in the morning at one o'clock, when I was smoking a Shisha with a friend at his home, I had an idea. I thought about a particle engine, which could simulate smoke, wind and fire. The fire is no problem. For the wind and speedjets I've also found a solution, but for the smoke not. So, could anyone help me with the smoke?

The Wind engine:

I thought about a userinterface in some way. Is it approrpriate to use a bmp-file to control the wind in some way?

PS: Today or tomorrow I'll post the wind engine, jsut for fun.

The best way of simulating smoke movements and fire movements that I know is to use a gel map.
You could do a lot worse than looking at Hugo Elias' website;

There are all sorts of interesting physics ideas on that page.
