Pip The Pea
« on: February 12, 2010 »
It's been a while, but I've finally gotten around to finishing another title for my site: Pip The Pea!

Quite a simple game. Your in control of a small pea (called Pip) who you can guide using the mouse. You need to collect Diamonds, but as you do Ghosts appear.
Hit a Ghost and you die. Left click to use a Stomp that scares away all nearby Ghosts, but you only have a certain amount. Collecting Diamonds will get you new Stomps.

Link!

Enjoy!

It seems to lock for me after a few seconds. I am using FF. Neat idea though.

No game i suppose

Update: Applet started. It's working now!

Hm very smooth animation and it pleases eye. Seems also effortless to play, i'll report more after some hours (and extra rounds)

(I can't hear any sounds as of now, no speakers)

Are those highscores stored server-side? Pretty cool.

Is it only for this computer, but those buttons (rePlay etc) are not always responding to me. OnHover event shows properly still (so can't be the wrong screen hit-region)

-

It's a bit hard, some rounds I'm not able to collect almost any crystals.. and i'm reported dead. (Maybe add more size to the distance crystals are generated when they find their position from ghosts)

Also highscores box, the name goes out of the hiscore box (cosmetic, but still)

The crystals look like in Ducktales!

Need me to test something specific, just tell

Yup. It uses a little PHP script on my site to submit the scores and they are just kept in a DB.

Fixed.

Do you mean it doesn't fill it? I already know but your the first to actually pick up on this. It doesn't fill because I built the graphics because adding the highscore backend code, which on the server is only limited to 12 characters.

Thanks for the offer, and thanks for giving so much feedback.

Yeah, a screenshot would be good. I'm not sure what your getting at.

Here (W is always by the way the char you want to test your inputboxes for, when you develop them and not use fixed-width)

other than that, It seems to work pretty swell, so no worries

I suspect this is just you who is affected. No idea why. All of the really strange bugs I've had reported in the past have always been JVM bugs, so you could try upgrading it. Could also try upgrading your graphics drivers too (as it's hardware accelerated), but I doubt this is the case.

This is what I see...
