Nope. For fun I  used to rip gfx off Amiga games and demos, mostly fonts, way back when. The ripping tools were pretty good. Wouldnt know where to start on a PC. (dumping gfx memory? using a debugging tool to inspect memory or exe for images? ) I'm sure if you google this you will find some answers.  There are a few sites, can't remember them at the mo, that have loads of ripped gfx from games.

I rip old nes sprites its good for showing you how to store the sprites in a compact manner that can be easily accessed. There are sites dedicated to romhacking, this is considered reverse engineering and as such you should not use these sprites in your own releases but it can be interesting to see just how the old games worked under the hood

Aye, using coyrighted stuff is a no-no.. There used to be a really nice site dedicated to pixel art that was called pixelation or something.. There were artists of all abilities there, I evn used some of their work a couple of times.

If you just need a couple of things done I will help you out. But I don't have the time for doing graphics for a full game.

The other thing is Hotshot that if I was an artist I'd want to make sure that my work was used in a completed game. Lots of programmers start off stuff and then give up.. You would be better off using simple test graphics and then when the game is nearly finished, try and recruit an artist then. Or draw them yourself.. I did all the sprite animation and artwork in Spaced invaders 2, I'd join Wham and draw you a few sprites (not as good as Wham's) but not until your game was near enough finished as artwork takes a long time.

Good point theres a time and a place for finishin touches and dressin things up all preatty like
but on the other hand theres no harm in givin the drawing side a decent shot (even if its as a standalone program) that way you will be better equipped as a programmer. Its not like drawing in the real world that requires talent workin in pixels is different what usually gets mistaken as talent is really alot of experience you can create beautiful images in a program and not be able to draw a straight line with a ruler. just keep tryin til you get it

you can rip graphics from gba roms yousing the vba emulator in debug mode, it lets you see the tiles and sprites in oam and tile vram.

although this should only be done with homebrew as its illegal otherwize.

Gotta love the homebrew I can safely say that emulators are the best thing since sliced bread anyone who dreamed of making a game whilst playing super mario 3 to death would agree
