all i really remember about the original is that the gfx and sound was awesome, but...but...but it was insanely difficult like too the point of going into a severe rage.. difficult  ..

these old remakes have got me curious though.. oh and borderlands 2 on the vita was an awesome gamescom bombshell for me.
