Ezboard shafting of board owners.
« on: September 13, 2006 »
Jim Shaw, the admin of the Homebrew forums, quite a long established but sadly fairly quiet community has decided to re-direct members of the homebrew forums over here. This means that we may start discussing things like development on consoles amongst other things.

Basically Ezboard, who are the service providers are going to migrate all the Ezboards over to something even worse than Ezboard called Yuku.
Yuku is very bad.

Since Jim doesn't have time to start a new site and there aren't that many active posters over there any more, don't be surprised if we get some new registrations from there in the near future. Quite a few of our members are already members of both places (including myself) anyway, so there has always been a fair bit of common ground.

New forums to cater for some of the exra languages over there may be added as needeed.

Cheers :) And welcome to any homebrew people who find their way and are brave enough to register here.

well to be fair I dont think theres a better place they can end up in. This site really is everything that the old dbf was and then some. Having somewhere to post your stuff is one of the mian things that keeps me coding. And to be honest I can't think of a better place than here, to the future then and whatever it may hold......

Finally made the effort to switch. I'm just lazy like that. I've been here 10 seconds and I'm already eyeing up that bananadance emote. This explains so much...

exactly what I was thinking, except maybe a 'jackasses' at the end so it would read;

Your incompetence at running forums is only exceeded by your arrogance towards your customers. Goodbye, jackasses.

but, a well thought out letter all the same.

Unscheduled Downtime Oct 29, 2006 - Update
A series of network events that began around 3:30 PM PST resulted in hardware failure in multiple networking devices. Many of these devices required replacement. All ezboard servers with the exception of the payments processing server are now back online.

All Gold boards have received one day of credit for this unscheduled downtime. We apologize for the inconvenience this unscheduled downtime caused for you and your community members.
-The ezboard Team
Remind me again how that happens?
I call bullshit.

Sounds like.  Or perhaps someone plugged the CAT5 into the mains?

Shame that they didn't plug themselves into the mains, it might wake them up perhaps.

Maybe they plugged a cat into the mains.

Don't try that at home!
