The New Design
« on: December 18, 2006 »
WOW! I just can say: "WOW!" the new design is just wonderful and perfect for the coding community. THX :clap: :clap: :clap:

PS: Many of you may have questioned them selves why I haven't posted any program or code till yet. There's a simple explaination for that. I had about  five tests a wee k in my school and that won't change until christmas. So, be patient, I'll post something (If I find time for that) after christmas....

I hate the new design. I really, really do. Obviously it's not Nick's fault, good work on the upgrade, I just don't like the skin.

As soon as more skins that are compatible with the mods I've installed are available Loopy I'll add them, hopefully there'll be a darker one, I think you used the black one before?

I'm indifferent, but a darker theme would be cool.
I love semi-colons way too much ^^;

You can now choose a darker theme, I don't think it looks as good myself.

I like it, aside from one small glitch, it appears to be messing around with the size of my display pic up top, anyone know what's causing this?

It's always done that for me.  The pics are all different sizes and when they swap (html push) the whole page redraws in an fugly fashion.

Perhaps its to do with the theme you are using. Does it do it, with the default SMf theme?

Yep.  It does it in Firefox, IE6 and IE7 too.  I think it might be to do with the fact the default font size is a bit too large on large screens so I always run with -1 or -2 on the font size.  But I'm really guessing.

No, dark theme only. I was of course replying to shockwave previous comment about there being a dark theme by saying;

I used to use Dark Red. This new dark one is pretty ok, though, thanks!

Glad it's better for you Dan.
Slinks, I'm sorry about the glitch with the av. The theme is not completely compatible with this version of smf but it should work fairly well.
As soon as I find something better I'll upload that instead.

It's no big deal :) I'd rather know about bugs than not know about them so thanks for posting! I'll fix it as soon as I can.

Here's what's happening - when the news image is changed, the web browser is showing an image placeholder which is smaller than the original image, so the box shrinks.  Then the new image appears and the box grows.  It makes the whole page jump up and down every few seconds.
Maybe our resident web gurus can fix this?

Jim

<edit>
It only does this while the images are not in the cache.  Once they're cached they load instantly.
Is it possible to put an invisible frame with a min height in there?
