Something I've been working on for a while, hopefully won't have too many problems on most machines.

The fx looks very cool. Excellent shadows of the cubes. Maybe it would be
nice if the cubes transform/morph to a certain figure (e.g. a bigger cube or
a letter).

The dark colors create a very cool atmosphere in my eyes. A dark moody
industrial soundtrack would fit perfectly imho

Thanks guys, it's possibly not 10fps clyde as the method of timing i use can stall if it's running too slow so there's an escape if the fps falls below 10 and it'll only report 10. I'm wanting to get this running on as much hw as possible so I'm glad it works at all but I'm going to look into ways of improving it.

It ran at 60 on my nVidia Quadro FX1400.

its a little wierd that it ran so slow on some of the above systems as the one i tested it on was a geforce 3 ti300 with 256 ddr ram and an xp1400 chip and like i said i got 30.

It makes quite a lot of use of the stencil buffer as well as blending and dot3, I wouldn't be too surprised if these things affect performance differently quite a bit from card to card.

215 fps (yes two hundred and fifteen) on ati x1900.

How odd that it should be this much faster. The x1900 *is* faster but for normal cirumstances its about 3-4x but for shaders its 10x at least over x800. Its as if whatever ati did for shaders is also directly impacting your program stonemonkey.

110-120 FPS here on ATI x800Pro (256Mb) [It's also a PCI-Express x 16 card] (That's also with a LOT running in the background)

Another test of this, not quite sure what they are but they're not cubes. This is pretty slow so it will struggle on some machines and there's a flattened strip down the join on the objects that i'm gonna have tofind some way to fix.

I got only 10 to 13 fps

My ancient latop graphics card doesent like 3D too much.

very nice stonemonkey i get about 20 fps youd swear if you didnt know better you were using pixel shaders.
