Downtimes
« on: January 12, 2007 »
Hi.

In the last two days it is impossible to reach dbfinteractive.com from time
to time. Is it just me ( local problem ) or has anyone else outside germany the
same problem ???

It just takes two minutes or so - then I can "connect" again. Very strange ...

I only can't reach the site, due to Orange upgrading and doing tests to the internet in my area, so they claim. As I get disconnected from time to time.

Had problems two days ago, but it happened for a few other select sites as well, so I thought the problem was on my end. It was sorted in an hour though.

Hi folks :)

Sorry about the downtime, the host company that we use for dbfinteractive is usually really good, they are called Petahosting. Since the site was launched there has only been about 3 hours of downtime, the last time it happened I complained and they moved the site to a different server.

I did notice slowdown 2 days ago and checked the service status and the downtime was caused by server load their end. If anyone experiences downtime over the next couple of days, could you  please post the time of day that you tried to access the site in here so I can get onto Petahosting to make them do something about it :)

Cheers,

Shock.

Shock,

I don't know if it is anything .... or if it is just me.... but I have been getting the yellow triangle and 'Error on page' on every single page lately. You will have to excuss my lack of knowledge here, but is that my connection or is it a site problem. Everything looks okay, so I am not sure what it is even flagging.

Thank you, lil

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
Getting this all the time right now.  Thing is, there's not that many people online, unless they're all downloading the swf games?

It's not the board it's the server it's on. I just checked the status and it is very overloaded at the moment.. I am very sorry about this, I've complained to the hosting company, usually they are quick to rectify complaints.

Response from web host..

Hi Nick,

This load should be temporary as one of the sites that shares your server is
experiencing uncommonly heavy traffic. In any case, I will ask our system
administrator to check whether some of the accounts that share your server
should be moved to another one.

Please let me know if this problem persists for more than 8 hours.

Best regards,

Lisa Goldberg

I can't comment for last night as I only have a PC at work!  What I can say is that I've not had any problems getting in this morning @ 9am.

It all looks ok at the moment. Since I used this host there have been very few glitches in service and they are damn fast at repairing problems. If it happens again soon I'll ask them to move us to another server.

There are other sites on the same server, perhaps one of them got slashdotted or something. Shit happens.

Thank you for the feedback folks!  :)
