Thought I'd introduce myself... My name is Shockwave, I have been a member of these forums for a while.. I have to admit to lurking here but it seems like a nice place so hopefully I can stick around a while.

Hiya,

I mostly lurk to see if I can pick up any new tricks, make the odd topic now and again, and generally have a good time hanging out with the possee. And like to help where I can, sometime I get it wrong but were only human.

In regards to being a musician, I can play guitar self taught with tablature.

I like to dabble mostly on the computer side of things with a bit of basic language coding, a bit of art ( getting less and less nowadays ), and watching peoples progress and demo productions.

I am from Arizona (United States) and have been into demo music for about a year, and coding as a hobby for almost 10 years (C# is what I usually use).  I have experimented with OpenGL but do not have a lot of time to make anything special.  After discovering tiny intros recently I think I want to take a shot at learning assembler and seeing what happens from there. 

I also have done some hacking challenges, take a look at hacker.org for more of that.

Hey and welcome to the forum. Hope you enjoy your stay here.
C# is a smart language IMHO. You can use it with Managed DirectX
quite easily AFAIK (of course also OpenGL is possible). To produce
tiny (1k or 4k) productions you can start using C. Assembler is fine
for some tiny functions in inline assembler but I think you are fine
with just C in the beginning.

Thanks for the hacker.org link - some nice flash games on it - didnt
expect that to be honest.
