Hehe ... weird. Cannot test it ( at least not with your code / no freebasic
installed ). Maybe I should test it with another language / library. Did you
run it on a lcd screen or on an old monitor ???

The Lord works in strange ways, brother. My monitor makes noises when there is too much white on the screen.

It's not the screen making the noise because the noise comes from my headphones
@benny, I'm not using a lcd.

Cheap audio (ie. game) cards are not well known for their ability to reject picking up high frequency interference from nearby components. You may want to reposition your cards in their ISA slots to determine if this noise is related to a card next to the sound card. In particular, keep the sound card away from the video or HD controller cards. If possible, leave the two ISA slots next to the sound card empty.

i had an analog tv tuner card in my box once and the interferance between that and my sound card was unbelivible. even when i was just starting up windows or playing games it was very audiable.

after about two days it was in the bin with it ;D

I get strange noises too from my speakers when different apps run, I even get the odd pop and pip noise randomly, I think it the sound card tbh, because I've since changed the motherboard and cept the sound card, still get the same

I think, at least a bit of it had to do with my opengl vsync being off by default, and some of it just disturbance from something else.

Back when the Altair 8800 was new, people used to make tunes by standing an FM radio on top of the computer and then coding up tight loops with different delays in them.  These loops when executed cause the CPU to emit radio waves which the FM radio picked up.  The different loops make it emit waves at different frequencies and so it can be made to make a tune.
Modern CPUs do this too, and I'm sure that what you're hearing is the CPU (or other component) creating radio waves that are inducing currents in some cabling somewhere - headphones, telephone cable, and causing it to whistle!
Maybe you could write us a tune?!

Hopefully you've managed to sort the problem dude.

I initially thought it could be that you've got wires for your speakers ( especially ones with Sub Woofer ) underneath a 4/6-way power adapter. That does give off an annoying humming sound, didnt release at first what the culprit was.

This is most probably not related, but I get a strange noise now and again from my PC. Sounds like a small jet plane in the room.  :-\

I think it could be that Bees might have nested in the case of your PC Paul.
If you see any traces of Honey oozing out of your case I'd call in a pest control expert to sort it out, Bee stings can be quite serious for those with alergies. Perhaps you could book an appointment with your doctor for an allergy test just to be on the safe side?
