Nice stuff and alot of content, I especially like the interviews.

I recon it could do with more colours also a progress slider, and quick links.

It's got a niche all of it's own doesn't it Rainstorm?

Anyway, I hope that you go on producing these Ascii art newsletters.. This sort of thing is just like geology, it's merely a study of pressure and time.

If a drop of water falls on a stone every year for a billion years then eventually it will erode the stone.

Making mags is like that, you need to keep on going and going and going, and eventually you might find you end up with something famous! I added comments to this production on II too so I won't type them here again. Good work, even if I didn't find all the comment to my taste! (you can't please everybody though Daz so don't mind me).

Thx for the comments so far!   :)

@Clyde: the current reader has come to the end of the line in it's present form and I'm hoping to find some additional coding support for the next one (i already have the new gfx for it).  Some additional features like scrolling, font/colour switching, hotlinking etc. is something I'd like to see next time but we'll see?    I'll probably be leaving an ad on here soon applying for help as we now have no coder in our ranks.   :-\

@rain_storm: glad u liked our prod and it's 'main' aim was to be an ascii colly with additional content, although it's evolved into a full blown ascii mag.   ;D  The original idea was inspired by a mag called Subculture by Phuture 3o3, not sure if you remember this?

@Shock: all feedback is good feedback. ;)  As we've discussed via email recently, I'd love to keep prouducing the newsletters and we've found a nice balanced format now but with doing 3 productions of this type on the bounce, it's time to unplug for a little while.   :)

If anyone would like any ascii's (diz/small nFo's) for any prods you are currently working on, plz shout up with your needs - thx.

Awesome stuff and very very oldschoolish. Well done.

Some feature I would like to see implented in future releases ( some
you already mentioned )

- scrollable text via mouse ( mouse wheel ) / scroll bar
- hotlinks -> jump from menu directly to a certain article
- external links -> open webbrowser and display link
- color- and style- ( bold, italic ... ) support for fonts

Looking forward to the next releases ... keep it coming!

(scrollable text via mouse ( mouse wheel ) / scroll bar)
Had it working with mouse at 1 point but duno what happened lol

hotlinks -> jump from menu directly to a certain article
This was included in my 1st attempt to do the reader but Dazzaboy wanted it scrollable to tie in the ascii pattern

external links -> open webbrowser and display link
Using the 1st reader engine i could incorporate this easy but unfortunatley couldnt manage it with the present reader layout

color- and style- ( bold, italic ... ) support for fonts
As above was easy to do with old reader layout

If i still got an exe lying around of the 1st reader attemp ill post it

@Benny:  thx for the input and glad you like.  ;)

Just to back up Codey's comments, the original reader based on the ESD Msgbox code had font/colour switching and scrolling but the new reader looked and ran a hell of a lot better but at a cost of losing some of the features we wanted.

Was a shame but you can't have it all your own way I suppose. At least we got the damn thing completed and released, which is always a bonus.  :)
