lsass is part of Windows! If it's crashing you might have the Blaster virus.

Almost certainly the problem is that some machine on the net (or on your local network if you have one) has the Blaster virus on it.  As soon as you're connecting, your machine is being attacked via a bug in lsass.exe.  You need to run a firewall to stop that happening (Windows Firewall is fine), and patch the Windows install (Windows Updates) as soon as possible.

<edit>
If you can't download SP2 and you can't get enough patches via dial-up, try getting just the Blaster patch

:D  Nice tip!

As Yaloopy helpfully points out, open a command shell window (Start->Run and enter 'cmd' and press return).
Then type
shutdown /a
and that will stop the 1 minute countdown while you get a chance to fix things.

@HotShot:
- Install NOD32 viruskiller on your sis PC (or even any other good viruskiller... AntiVir is free but may be not really protect you)
- Download AutoRuns  and ProcessIt  ... both tools are freeware and they are extrem helpfull !!!

Good luck to you and your sis ;)
