It is getting close to the time where a post where all these fine libraries and guides can be collated into one post with links into the correct topics.
This will be a great resource for the many programmers who come here looking specifically for help in these popular areas.
Thanks to everyone here who has helped to develop these libraries and guides. These guides will continue on coming, I know of several more exciting things that are being developed by people here that I can't tell you about yet...
As always your posts and feedback we get on using these libs is essential in ironing out any bugs.
I can tell you that I am developing a new promotional intro which will contain over 100 sid tunes to advertise Jims excellent tinysid lib (crunches to less than 15kb!!!!) and Rbraz's tried and tested PTC_EXT lib for those who want the fun of pixel bashing with some of the nice benefits of opengl, such as vsync, borderless windows, mouse input, dialog boxes etc.
