What's the Best Thing
« on: September 08, 2007 »
Hiya,

Whats the best thing that you've ever done / are most proud of, past or present?
Maybe it's a thing you've coded or you've done in real life. Perhaps there's more than one.

One of the things that Im most proud of is making my first ever intro. It was a Blitz Basic 2D affair, but sadly I no longer have the code for it, but it made me real excited about trying other stuff.

Cheers and take care,
Clyde.

For me it was probably this one; http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=29681
I don't think I have ever got close to matching it since.
I don't think I ever will either :)

Probably not the best I coded but definately something special for me, was my first
real scene release on the amiga. It was a bbs-tro for our groups (bizarre arts) bbs.

Main reason I am proud of it - because I did all by myself : code, gfx, tune.

If you still own an amiga / emulator - dl it here :
www.weltenkonstrukteur.de/dl/ffactory.exe

Song attached. I used Nirvana's bassline from the tune "Come as you are" ;-)

Coding wise, probably dart the yabasic racing game. Was a real challenge getting it running as well as it was but in the end it all came together quite nicely. And is probably about the only thing I've really finished to date anyway.

I remember when you announced that you were making a Wipeout type game in Yabasic, to be honest I didn't believe you at first!

Your F1 game was a nice piece of work too.

Probably this
http://au.pc.ign.com/objects/014/014708.html
It got universally panned, but mostly that was because Tony Hawk 2 was about to come out.  The game was actually pretty playable, and it had a lot of really good content in it.

Probebly my 'masterpiece in a minute' demo. The only 'real' demo i've done, the rest are all games. Most of which are incomplete :P
I love semi-colons way too much ^^;

The coolest thing I have programmed has to be my Barcode Battler website.
