Cool release. Everything runs very smooth and clean. Well done.

I really like the fading out sequence after hitting ESC! Cool idea!

I wish you had spent more time on getting the colours nicer and on design.
As it is, it contains everything you'd expect in an oldschool intro, everything runs well but it just doesn't seem to fit together.

Please keep on making your nice intros though, you can get a really nice intro with a little more work than this. My tip would be to get your artist to help you with colours / textures etc next time.

@Shockwave

We try to do it a little bit different and we go the wrong way.
It's nice to see that some people keep helping with there comments.

And I/we will keep trying. ;)

Thanks!

There's nothing in the intro that is bad at all, it seems a bit odd though, like having horizontal stars on a 3D screen doesn't seem to work for instance.

I've watched the code coming along of everyone in Dawn and there's a lot to like, just my own feeling but you would do well to ask your gfxer to design the intro, or at least look at it in the end before you release it to change colours / textures etc.

If it was just an intro to release amongst friends then I would say "fantastic" but it's something you released on Pouet and Intro-Inferno and has to be compared to similar things that have been released in those places.

I am glad you don't take my comments bad, they are not meant in a bad way, I like to see the things you make.

No reason to do so.

The logo is nice.
I agree with Shock about pouet, people there will always compare your "cracktro like" production with kick ass prods from keops, hitchhikr etc. And since intro-inferno is growing and growing everyday you will see the same kinda of attitude there. In the end, IMHO, if you're strong enough to take the bad critics, this will give you more experience for what works or not and prepare you to make a kick ass production in the future.

If you really like democoding, my advice is - "never give up!", it's hard sometimes but it's fun too.

@Rbraz
Keops and Hitchhikr made fantastic demos/intros. Hitchhikr  ??? ??? ??? After his comment on Pouet I don't like his work any more. ;D Just joking.
But seriously, compared to there productions my intro truly sucks. But I keep on trying.

Thanks for your words.

No! your intro does not suck! it's cool. Of course some of the comments are right about things that could have made it even better, but it's far from being sh*t! Keep on coding!
We once had a passion
It all seemed so right
So young and so eager
No end in sight
But now we are prisoners
In our own hearts
Nothing seems real
It's all torn apart

Listen to me, I have had and still get a lot of criticism for the thing I release, you should code whatever makes you happy.

Self gratification is a good thing, don't listen to anyone who says you should use opengl or directx or gdi or code 64kb or whatever.

The scene is a vast tappestry of things and people who argue that certain types of productions suck because they are "oldschool" or too small or too big should really take a long hard look at themselves.

Keep making your intros please and make sure that you post them all here, lots of people enjoy them.
