Don't take pouets on comment too personal. It's your
first 1k. Unfortunately I haven't VISTA at home - so
cannot check out the music.

But since you now know how to do 1k's - I guess we
will see loadz of releases from you soon, eh ?

The music works on XP only.  If you have Vista it just goes Ping!  Ping!  Ping!

First thanks for all your comments and trying to motive me... i dont see the comments on pouet to personally... its more like a fun to see what ppl think and write about it... to sad, i dont have an pouet account until now (cant register and contacted the webmaster)... else i would like to reply and my personally opinion about this, which is following:

a)
i wanted to released the first 1k with real music inside, a small simple fx, messagebox and beeing a WIn32 insteed DOS file (even if the music is a bit tricky or a little bit faked)

b)
i thought that the comments on pouet and peoples opinion may be like on pouet. But this is exactly what i wanted to reach with my first 1k on the one side... i wanted something like the "wtf" fx when people seeing the 1k the first time and listen to the long music and to discuss about what is legal and what not...

When people are saying its not legal to use a tune that is already on every WinXP system delivered, so where is the problem to use this system component (the wma tune)? If people think this is not legal because its part or the OS, so what about all the API stuff like Win32, DX, OGl API ? They are all part of the OS too and it must me illegal to use this components, because ppl are using external graphic function for opening a window and drawing/showing gfx contest on screen :P

And i am sure there a re lot of parts where people dont think about... but what is with all the intros, using General Midi DLL to extract waves to play their tunes in 4k and so on... maybe my 1k intro is a bit to provoke and discuss about what is legal and what not, even the way i am using is not illegal in the BP compo rulez and its not  just only to use API and play the wma tune... its a bit more tricky to decode the wma tune with MPGE codec and play then (by system)... else you would not hear the tune.

personally i think i have reached my target and its really funny to me to see what people think about and discuss / vote on pouet ^^

@benny:
i am very interested and motivated by JIM who helped me on an excellent way and the feedback from this community, trying to leave PB and learning C/CPP and trying to work on another simple 1k or possible 4k. I have some possible great 4k ideas, i have started years ago and not seen until today by somone. However, i would like to use DX9 for 4k intros and and so have to learn some special things about DX9. (to sad someone like JIM does not live here near me... i have really to say, that JIM was and still is a great teacher for me! brilliant! Thanks JIM!)

if you want see and hear how the intro looks and the sound is on XP system... you can just do following which works on my vista too without any problem...

just try to get the following XP wma file and create/copy it to the same path on vista ^^
