Looks like more than a simulation to me.
How to create a black hole:
Step 1. Buy 16 PS3s
Step 2. Check bank account.
Anyway, yeah, cool stuff. Anyone tried coding on it yet? I'm gonna wait till I get a new HDD for it before I give it a go.

Just in time too
VY Canis Majoris
is just a mere 5,000 light years away and is due to go supernova within this millenium. Which means we will be seing it through telescopes within 6,000 years. Its the largest star known to mankind and its definately gonna become a black hole. It will then begin to 'sink' to center of our milky way where it will meet an old super massive black hole. Currently there is a crazy theory that if you were to send a satelite between two black holes that are in a death spiral the satelite may be accelerated almost to the speed of light and so long as it managed to stay outside both event horizon's there is a great chance that it can be performed safely with humans aboard

What, PS3 Linux?
I've just spent 3 weekends getting Linux, wireless, samba, mplayer, freevo on there. It wasn't worth it for freevo, but theoretically I could code on it now. Most certainly the installs were
not
a point-and-click exercise.

Using networked PS3's has become a practice. I've heard of it being done for other uses too however I cannot recall what they were. And yes, purchasing a PS3 does create a black hole so dense that not even a penny can escape from one's wallet. It even may suck in money from other dimensions (bank savings account). If one purchases an XBOX 360 and a PS3 they run the risk of creating a binary black whole which can suck away all money and even cause one to loose expensive positions in order to fuel the binary system. People should just be happy to use their underpowered Wii with the new rubber slip ons.

I'd wait for the monkeys or dogs to come back and make sure they've not been turned into spaghetti before signing up for that.
Sorry Jim, yes. And that is what I was afraid of
