Transfer advice

In the next week or so i shall be ditching my laptop and taking delivery of my shiny desktop with suitable bells and whistle to move me up level in this coding mularky.So i'd appreciate advice on the best way of transfering all my important stuff from my laptop onto my desktop.Any ideas please.

Quite possibly :)

It's pretty simple to transfer them, I have the cable to connect them, basically it's just a matter of copying the stuff you want from one computer to the other.
