[REMAKES] Scoopex - Xenomorphs
« on: October 14, 2008 »
here is one of the remakes I promised.

Please note that this remake is not a candidate for the final vote!

I hope you will like it
We once had a passion
It all seemed so right
So young and so eager
No end in sight
But now we are prisoners
In our own hearts
Nothing seems real
It's all torn apart

I've been really privilaged to see this remake in its various stages of development.

Those of you who have two computers, it's a good game to try running the original file in winuae and this on the other computer, both versions are identical.

it's "only" a bob demo but everything here is perfectly emulated, there's not a pixel out of place. This is a phenomenal amount of work, well dont, and congratulations on your 100th remake too :)

The original was a real break away from the traditional bob demos that were around in 1989, this was not 200 bobs in 4 colours on a crappy little screen that make your eyes hurt. This was 8 big 4 bitplane bobs and a proper showcase for J.O.E's graphics and I loved it.

Congratulations Stormbringer on a faithfull conversion.
Tremendous work and effort, and it looks fab. It's one of those demos that inspires you; also makes you think, why don't more people do animated bobs / bob snakes and the like.

Welldone,
Clyde.

Simply breathtaking.

Very good conversion. Love the star-fx in the background.

Roxx and brings back true Amiga feeling.

My NOD32 antivirus is blocking the download as it's warning of 'WIN32/Statik' threat - false positive?

it's just crunched with kkrunchy, which sometimes is seen as a virus, but it's not (AFAIK)

Had to disable NOD32 in order to download, extracted the rar, re-scanned and nothing was found, so a false positive.

Nice demo & really well remade   :)

I am always getting an antivirus-warning when starting Stormbringer's work. Since
I do trust him - I ignore them and enjoy his productions instead ;-)

Very very cool  ;D

Once again, I can't appreciate the remake quality since I didn't know the original, but it looks awesome :)

False alert :) The file is safe.
same thing for me.
but it's strange because now, I use Kkrunchy for my last remakes, and I haven't any alerts with MY progs, but I have alerts with other kkrunched progs (demos 4k, cracktros,...)  ???

I think it depends on the version of kkrunchy. Stormbringer uses 0.23alpha2.

hehe

I sat watching the initial screen where you select full screen etc and wondered where the bobs were and why there was a retro remake logo spinning around.

That's when I realised it was just a loading screen, I'm so used to seeing a simple windows prompt to select full screen it never occurred...

Need ... more ... coffee ...
