Yep, the time of year for shorter days of day light, and colder times lay a foot.apparently the reason behind it is for farmers.

I wonder if it's the same date throughout the globe?

Well I'll be blowed, never knew that it was different all over the land, and especially in Oz.
Wonder when this happens in other countries?

Today we are graced in the Buckinghamshire network ( The South East ) with lovely white snow. Usually we're accustomed to it near December time, and it's not known for it's early appearance in October.
