OK so today I was browsing my local thrift store. People often donate goods like cloths and shoes to such places. I'm not poor but sometimes you can get insanely good deals on stuff here. I happened to take a look over at their REALLY old computer section. Two books caught my eye. Both dead on with what I like to do. Both on C++ game programming. Now I have been tinkering with the DOS box in C++ for a little while now but never really had anyplace to go. The books cover Allegro which appears to be cross platform. This is a really REALLY odd find. Two books on an advanced programming in MINT condition in the middle of a store for less fortunate people. Here is the greatest part of all. The costs were 3 dollars and 5 dollars. It gets even better. The CD envelope with both books has never been opened. This is just so bizarre I thought I would share. I'm a religious man, I'll count it as a blessing.

Some pics. The tags were a bit smudged and look funny when I tried to sharpen them in photoshop.

nice deal man  :P

we have somehing similar here called "monastiraki" and you can find anything , from old books to pins to full pc's , anything.

last time i was there i bought a P4@1.7Ghz desktop pc for 10 euros :xmas:

my guess is that those books must've been untouched and were given away maybe by a bookstore owner that had them in stock or something, and you happened to be at the right place at the right time ;D
