Very cool!

The lighting seemed to be some kind of trick. I assume you just use a 2d circular gradient for the pseudo lighting? Correct? It appears this way when I forced a lower color resolution to show the gradient bands...

nice spin on the lsvb effect, but the light source moves too far I think because the balls turn black at times..
