MS VC ++ and GDK
« on: June 29, 2009 »
I downloaded and installed Microsoft's Express VC++ and saw that the Game Creators GDK is a free download and integrates directly into VC++. The GDK home page is here. It is done by the DarkBasic folks. There are also a number of commercial add-ons available as well.

I tried it out and you can do both 2D and 3D graphics using DirectX. Seems to have a nice set of built-in commands. The only downside here is that you have to install the DX SDK which is about 500 megs.

Most people who are going to do anything like games or demos would probably download this anyway :) Nice find Rick, you seem very good at sniffing out these links!
