As shocky says - I would also aim a smaller production. A good 64kb production
would take a lot of work ... maybe too much to get it finished in the near future.
So, I would aim for a smaller production. Maybe a good crack-tro styled intro.

Personally, I do not know if I can be of any help atm. Next to the fact that I am
very limited on time - I do not use any real compiler language anymore. And
the last time I touched C/C++ was since p1nkPong.

Well I am not suggesting we make it 64k or super fancy small code, I was thinking that it would be more a 1 screen effort, My idea was just to have that one screen having the effects running in some sort of window(s) on it like the 64k i linked does ;)

As for the language to code it in, I guess who ever is willing to start the projects code gets to choose that and then those willing to help out can join in, there will be a need for more than just code, gfx and music will also be needed. It would also be nice if we got a few more design ideas thrown into the thread so that maybe shockwave and the other DBF admin members can lock down an idea to be made.

While looking about for some inspiration I came across this cool 64k invitro from 2007 http://www.intro-inferno.com/production.php?id=3067

It has some oldskool effects running in the different boxes while the 4th area has a text writer of sorts. I thought this might be a cool way to do the intro for here, you could have part of the screen with logo, website address and maybe a little scroller/text writer and the other part have some effects running, maybe a mix of oldskool routines and perhaps something a little more upto date ?

Any one else have any ideas or thoughts on what we can do :)

Frameskool is an awesome production, I really love it, as far as locking down an area for ideas is concerned, this thread would be good.

Good ideas can be fished out of here :)

Old telnet/terminal window... sounds=dialing... connect to bbs(sounds=typing)... download files... oldskool effect pops up(8bit sounds)... (<repeat*howevermanytimes)... mock browser window... connect to mock DBF site... download files... newerskool effect pops up(more advanced music)...

etc.

...
..cubes coming from sky or moving in the ground to form a screen (8 cubes) which can display one 2D effect, camera moves and show more cubes forming new screen effect, in the end camera will move from ground to top and those cubes formed the "DBF" letters and a text below it appears and display something like "Visit us at http://www.dbfinteractive.com/" or something. Oh, and glowing cubes and reflective ground is required ;)

I always liked and still love intros like that.
Do you remember the bbs-tro for the in4kb site. Simply love it.
And emphazise the oldschool scene.
