The last Mission (Redux)
« on: March 16, 2010 »
Here is the Last Mission salvaged from the scrap heap. I recompiled this and tweaked some things so it would run on my Vista box. Win32 exe and FB source is included. Unzip and preserve directories.

I have to say, it was nice seeing this again. This is my favorite of the demos I have done. One day I hope I can go 3D on this; it would be cool.

Yeah, thanks for reviving it again. I still have to say that the atmosphere it
creates is just wonderful. The text is so well written and the music fits perfectly.

Having watched this again and reading the words, it put me in mind of a book my father had when I was a child.
I remember reading this book time and time again.
The book contained some stunning artwork and a story to go with each painting.

I think you'd love this book, it's a bit of a collectors item now, but well worth it.

I recall seeing some of those pictures here and there. I didn't realize that they were from a book series. Very cool. Thanks!

Wow, that was beautifull! I'm really glad I saw this, incredible atmosphere, very well done!  :clap:

Also, thanks for that link shockwave. Ever since I started 3d modelling I've been looking for image heavy SF books for inspiration. I found a few interesting reads but the artwork was usually limmited to the cover. It seems a little costly even today, but I've got a feeling it will be worth it.

I (go)ogled a bit online, that book is excellent. Apparantly it is a series of four books and I found the entire series on the high seas, yaharr! I'll keep an eye out for the paper versions though.

@rdc
Everytime I see lm.exe on my desktop I have to click it, the lonely, eerie atmosphere reminds me of Moon (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1182345/). Way to equal a hollywood production with a few lines of code!! :)

Heh. Thanks I really appreciate it.

Moon looks good. I'll have to see if I can find that one.
