Hi,

There seems to have been some problems in getting Bass to work with Blitzmax but I believe that it's been done.

Check this thread out;

If your just after the basic abilities to play some modules rather than all the features bass has you could use uFmod, it includes modules for blitzmax in the distribution and it's what I use in my stuff. It doesnt require any external dll, is very small sized and has directsound,openal and winmm drivers so its very compatible. Down side is only .xm support I think.

http://ufmod.sourceforge.net/Win32/en.htm

The reason bass.dll and the full fmod arent wrapped and made more obvious on the blitzmax forums is more to do with there licencing i think, since the more hardcore bmax coders are looking to make games and apps to sell they dont seem to wont the hassle of paying for the shareware or commercial licences, or if they do they dont like sharing there wrappers for it.

Oh I forgot about Brucey's modules, looks like he has a bass and some other audio modules as well, you will have to be able to compile modules to use these I think, so I dont know if you have that all setup or not.

I have found one in my old blitzmax folders. It was written by Alan MacDonald way back when blitzmax was fairly new, but I think it might still work. I have used this a few years back for playing mod tunes, so at least it worked back then. I have attached the code. To use it you unpack the folder and copy it to the module folder of blitzmax and then import the module.

[edit] You will need to download the bass.dll from somewhere and put that in the folder of your blitzmax project.

I have not heard anything from him in a couple of years now, so I have no idea. He managed to get a management IT job with a large law firm which ment a lot of weekly hours and no real coding time on the job, but if he continued to code in his spare time I really do not know. He was a great guy to chat with and he made some really nicely documented code that was easy to follow.
