New place defineatly needs a code snippets category.

There are a mountain of features, I wonder if time travel is possible.

Cheers,
Clyde.

Still have that strange planet feedback spinny glowy slidey thing.. yes, all technical terms.

I guess you'd have to see it to appreciate it eh?

Tell you what, the quote feature is pretty cool but I don't know about time travel, it's probably because the clock is busted!

I really like the stats page, very intersting

http://dbfinteractive.com/index.php?action=stats

I very nearly didn't include it but I'm glad I did, it's pretty comprehensive.

Pretty please, can we have a Code Snippets category?  Tell you for why, im suggesting it, is that very soon people are going to get confused to whats a code help question, and whats a code snippet. Plus they wont know where to be posting stuff / etc. Especially when there's more then the one page ;)  A few friends of mine have also commented on it.

Still Fabo stuff Shockie!

Cheers,
Clyde.

Glad you're enjoying the forum Clyde, what do you suggest for a code snippets category? One for each language or just the one for all languages?

See, I think that adding a code snippets category will confuse the issue at the moment and there's nothing stoping people posting code snippets in the language forum that they are related to.

I don't want to have a load of dead forums and just one or two that have posts in them.

Also the search option of the forum is powerful and it works so it shouldn't become a problem, however having said all that I am listening and if I can see it makes sense I will add it.

So convince me! :)

I recon along these lines for the languages matey. I think that having Asm, and C / C++ together would be cooler and as you say not be dormant. Blitz Languages could go into one also. Freebasic on it's tod, as thats the main one the current motley crue are into. And if the need arises to split them further buddy.

Thanks,
Clyde.

Hmm, but lumping those languages in together would surely lead to the problem that you wanted to avoid? IE. making things harder to find? As it is now, the language forums are made up of code snippets, almost exclusively.

I'm not rubbishing your suggestion, this board is for everyone with an interest in demo coding as far as I'm concerned, I just can't see any gain in what you've suggested there at the moment.

Having said all that, I have a couple of things that I want to run by you Clyde to see if you're interested, probably they are better discussed by PM for now so I'll be in touch soon.

Meanwhile, does anyone else see the need to have 2 forums for freebasic (one for code snippets and one for questions or something) and an extra code snippets forum to cover the other languages like Clyde has suggested? If so, please post here.

I think the time is now for adding such a category, as the code forums are blossoming at great guns, which is real cool.

I have another suggestion, for next time a Code Challenge pops up, can the entries be posted as seperate posts in that forum. That way, it'll be easier to see the participating entries, and better feedback. Then once the deadlines reached and all, they can be moved more easily into the Code Snippets areas.

Cheers and thanks for a wonderful forum,
Clyde.
