I really hoped that I would have been able to spend more time on this but I know I'm going to be out quite a lot next weekend and time has crept up on me so here's a compo filler to support the challenge.
It's meant to be a representation of the northern lights.
The shape of the lights is created with a cubic spline, this is drawn into a buffer which is scrolled upwards and darkened each frame, this buffer is blended with the picture which is also just faded a little bit.
It's the reverse of how the real thing works in fact.. Charged particles colliding with the earth's electromagnetic field revealing the lines of force..
Anyway, sorry for the lame entry.. It's all in software of course, source is a fucking mess but if you want it I'll post it after the comp
