Shiny Bubbles
« on: September 21, 2012 »
Hi guys,

well this is nothing special nowadays, but it sure was back in 1987...  ;) It's no exact remake, it's actually just a little test. The purpose is to use original 300x200 gfx and then scale and show them fullscreen on higher resolutions without black bars and ugly stretching. It works quite well on my system running a resolution of 1440x900.
If any of you guys could test it please and tell me if it works at all, if there are any oddities and what resolutions it was tested on.

Thanks in advance!

Yep it works Dude and very nice too!!

Looks like I'm first in the queue.

OS    : Win 7 64 - Bit
PROC: AMD Athlon X2 3800+ 2.00ghz
GFX  : Nvidia Geforce 7600gs
RES  : 1280 x 1024 x 60 hz

Goes better with the logo off.
I didn't hear any sound incase there was any.

I haven't seen the original either.

Cool,
Clyde.

Runs fine here too Padman at 1920x1080 res.

It does look a little bit like the scaling might be slightly out. On the first screen (with all the text), the Shiny Bubbles logo is missing the top half (it's off the top of the screen).  The text on the bottom right (98007) hits the very bottom of the screen too, the bottom pixel of the text is right at the bottom of the screen.

Hope this helps.

Nice one!

Ran only slightly choppy on my laptop (@ 1920 x 1080), but I seem to be having more speed issues lately. Got the same text issues Raizor described.

Well done though, the filter works great!

Ok, I guess I should add some testing whether it's a 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio and scale the gfx accordingly. Or just leave some space blank at the top and bottom... Things were so much easier in the 4:3 era.  ::)

Anyway, thanks for testing guys! K++  :)
