Downgrading my psp

here goes ive had my psp lying in a draw for almost a year now it has firmware 2.6 on it now im going to take it step by step down to 1.5 and post each step and how it went heres the initial plan.

upgrade to 2.71 which im just downloading

nock my psp`s firware down to 1.5 by
      installing on my psp
      installing dark alexis generic 1.5 downgrader
      installing the sony eboot.pbp 1.5 firware file

now ill let you guys know how each process goes and go into detail as i go

Sounds like a plan - though there are several ways of upgrading to custom versions of 3.x that also allow homebrew, PS1 games, that kind of thing.  I haven't tried them.

My only advice is to make sure that you download the software from reliable places.  There are a number of 'om1god iv downgraded it using this amazing exe' sites which will run programs/updates that will totally brick your PSP.

i was thinking of using a custom firware but then i though it might be better to use 1.5 + devhook for getting into the hire firware versions.

i was shocked when i looked this all up tonight its all got a bit cofusing but it seems to be going well so far i had to update to 2.71 then install alexs 2.71 homebrew enabler which went like a treat then install the downgrader which again went fine now im just downloading the 1.5 firware and we will see what happens.

to think i was just using the old fanjita gta loader way

bte the pspyabasic runs better on 1.5 than it did on 2.6 gta ( ie a lot more stable ).

im seriously thinking of upgrading to dark-alexs 3.10 oe firmware i can still downgrade to 1.5 from there so thats cool.
im just wondering how compatible home brew will be with the firmware i mean will it run all homebrew like 1.5.

tried it im now running 3.10 oe - a and i must say its brilliant i can run my umd games at 333mhz now which really does make a diffrence and also i can use the forth level of brightness on the sceen without the charger.

now the inportant part is that when i boot up if i hold the r shoulder button it goes into safe mode then i can choose whether i want to run the games folder on my memory stick in 3.10 kernel or 1.5 so i can still run all my homebrew stuff.

theres also a lot more stuff that can be messed with ie turn off/on the sony startup logo etc.

it was quite a long process i had to wait around an hour and a half for my psp to generate the dxar.pbp file here is the link. i used the upmost link it holds all the files required.
