Super Maze Wars

I was just wondering... as I have again lost interest in the card game... if it would be possible to remake the MAC game SuperMazeWars!?

Hmmm...

I don't know, do you reckon it might take too long? Go on, build up some bull-headedness.

Hmm. Well, I've seen some nice ray-tracing engines for Yabasic - notably Rain_Storm's and Laurenz's - so it would be... I guess (for an experienced coder) easy to make the 3D map generated from data... and the AI could be implemented like the AI from PacMan (coded by Shocky or Xalthorn)...

I'll try and make a start - but I probably wont be able to get far (and knowing me, I'll probably abandon it in awhile!)

Any help would be great full!

Either way, there will still be some coding techniques to learn from, as always.

Is SuperMazeWars anything like wolfensien?
If you need an example of a raycaster heres one that is stripped down to the bone. You can use it if you like. It can support texture mapped walls if you reduce the ammount of rays cast.

Thanks Rain!
Umm, haven't played Wolfensien... but, here's a link to a PC (newer mind you) version http://www.slimeland.com/games/mazewars/
Check it out. I downloaded it, and it brought back nice memories... but for some reason... the simplicity of about 3 Pascal colours of the original was better, I think it was because... I dunno... the MAC one is way better!

Hopefully I can get it like that! :P
